DEBBIE FARNABY

Debbie Farnaby, passionate and energetic,  is Group Director of Information Technologies for De Beers.  She was appointed a Director of DBCM from June 2003.  She heads  the Rainbow Implementation Committee and is also a  member of the De Beers Executive Committee.  Debbie has both an MSc in Computer Science (Cum Laude) University of Stellenbosch and a GDE in Mechanical Engineering  (WITS). She has worked operationally in both disciplines during her 16- year career.

Debbie joined De Beers from Sappi where she held the position of Group Information Technologies and Science Director.  She also serves as a non-executive member on various Boards.

A team player, Debbie believes: “It is important for my team to make a significant difference to the effectiveness of the organisation through the intelligent use of information technology.  Achieving this will require passion, energy and open minds.”
