ORAPA: CNN International crew is in Botswana to get the Botswana success story regarding the way it utilizes its natural resources for the benefit of its people. Jeff Koinange, Chief Correspondent and his crew arrived in Orapa yesterday for a tour of the Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa mines.
As an effort to further carry the diamonds for good story and how Botswana and Debswana have used good governance, sound economic management and professionalism in the name of national development, international media from the UK, Italy and France, among other countries, continue to visit the ‘gem’ of Africa to get first hand experience on this initiative.
Botswana has been commended for being in the forefront and setting a pace for many of these countries with regard positive utilization of its natural resources for human and national development.
The crew will also visit Botswana Diamond Valuing Company as well as meet senior government officials. Filming from their visit will be broadcast on CNN on Monday December 11th 2006.
