Debswana lives to its values. To show that it cares, on Saturday 25th November 2006, close to 300 workers are expected to stage a Health walk. The walk shall commence from the Debswana Technical Support Centre (along the Airport road) at 0600hrs and end at 1100hrs at Phakalane Golf Estate where there will be a programme of Wellness activities. The Debswana Managing Director, Mr Blackie Marole will grace the event.
According to Bekezela Mbakile, the event organizer, this is an annual activity that precedes the Wellness Week whose objective is to conduct various blood tests for all Debswana Head Office employees to help them manage their health better.
“Amongst the blood tests conducted will be: glucose, cholesterol, HIV, tests to detect male and female cancer (PSA and CEA respectively), together with provision of the necessary support services such as pre and post counseling and interpretation of the results by medical practitioners,” she said.
