Mr Kgomotso Abi is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources in the Republic of Botswana. The Ministry is responsible for national policy formulation and implementation in the minerals, energy and water sectors.
Kgomotso has a B. Eng (Hons) in Mineral Processing Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines, United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration from the De Montfort University, United Kingdom. His career includes working at the BCL Limited Smelter in Selebi Phikwe, Botswana as a Metallurgical Engineer between 1987 and 1993. He worked at the Department of Mines between July 1993 and March 2011 and held the position of Director of Mines between August 2008 and March 2011. Kgomotso was the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Water) between 1st April 2011 and 2nd November 2014. He was appointed to the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources on the 3rd November 2014.
