Jwaneng Mine marked World Suicide Prevention Day with various activities focused on mental health awareness and support.
The day’s objectives included raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, providing guidance for those in need, encouraging open dialogue to reduce stigma, and empowering individuals with knowledge to tackle mental health challenges.
The observance underscored the mine’s commitment to employee well-being and the community at large, promoting an environment for open discussions about mental health and available resources. Key messages were communicated through plaques and other mediums, and a multidisciplinary panel discussion themed “Change the Narrative” was held to share diverse viewpoints on mental health.
