Recently Next Gen Digital North, a grouping of Debswana employees launched a science, technology and digital skills program at Chobe Junior Secondary School. The program is designed to close the digital skills gap of students and enhance their interest on studying STEM related courses in the future.
Speaking at the launch of the program, Principal Analyst – Digital Business Architect Ms. Monkgogi Tshosa, who is the Next Gen Digital North team lead said through the project they want to bridge this gap while giving a voice to the students at Chobe Junior Secondary School. The program will also empower learners with coding and robotic skills.
Giving a keynote address at the launch, Ms Tebogo Seitei the Principal Education Officer for Chobe Region reiterated the necessity of digital skills in improving the country’s global competitiveness, as the skills can be exported to the world in the long run. She further commended Chobe CJSS for embracing this opportunity and utilizing it to positively influence the journey of learners.
