Debswana's Jwaneng Mine Modular Plant has won Gold in 2021 Anglo-American P101 2021 Awards for Best Beneficiation Plants. The plant came first in the fourth quarter and overall year to date performance. This is not the first time Jwaneng Modular Plant (JMP) delivers breakthrough performance in Anglo American P101 Awards. The plant was the overall winner in 2020.
The award goes to the Minerals Processing plant in MetCoal, PGM, Copper, Iron Ore and Diamond operations, that delivered the most exceptional and consistent performance in achieving Safe Production. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is used as measure for "Achieved Operational Excellence" for the year. The award considers the operating time, throughput rate, recovery efficiencies and safety performance to determine the safest, most exceptional, and consistent operation.
The General Manager of Jwaneng Mine, Koolatotse Koolatotse said, "Jwaneng Mine has safely done it again. This repeat and consistent breakthrough performance bears testimony that Jwaneng Mine is a leading world class operation. It comes because of extreme ownership and total commitment to safety." He applauded the Jwaneng Modular Plant team for working together as a team to systematically remove all bottlenecks safe production. He reiterated that true transformation takes place in the mind and hearts of the workers and singled them out as an example of a team that has taken the Debswana One Team, One Dream strategy to heart. "Let us remain focused and level-headed, Put Safety First and insist on executional excellence," Koolatotse added. The General manager also applauded the Jwaneng Recrush Team who came second after JMP and challenged them to continue pushing the technical limits of safe production.
P101 Awards are designed to inspire teams across the entire business toward delivering benchmark operational performance through efficiency, productivity, reducing costs and absolute commitment to safety. In the 2021 Quarter three (3) awards, Jwaneng Mine took the three top spots: Recrush Plant won the Group Processing Golden Plant Award with Jwaneng Modular Plant (JMP) and the Jwaneng Main Treatment Plant (MTP) in second and third respectively. For overall 2021, Jwaneng Recrush Plant came second after JMP.
