Debswana has sponsored the Botswana Resources Infrastructure Energy Forum (BRIEF) with P115 000. BRIEF (formerly known as Botswana Resources Sector Conference) is one of the most successful networking events in Botswana and it is endorsed by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security and the Botswana Chamber of Mines. The conference offers delegates enriching presentations from industry experts, panel discussions and debates from resource infrastructure and energy companies operating in Botswana. The two-day conference started this morning (May 16th) with the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security Lefoko Moagi giving a keynote address. Debswana's Senior Carbon and Energy Manager, Ishmael Motlhale will participate in a panel discussion titled "Green Energy for Botswana" while Debswana Energy Manager Gaenamele Ganamotse will give a solo presentation on, "Reducing Energy Intensity at Debswana". Nametso Gaopotlakwe, Acting Supplier Development Manager at Debswana will participate in another panel discussion titled "Deepening Citizen Economic Empowerment in the Mining Sector."
