Adrian Gale Museum

Debswana has opened the first diamond museum in the country, the ‘Adrian Gale Diamond Museum’ in Orapa. This development will undoubtedly lure visitors to Boteti region through its captivating exhibits that showcase the history of diamond mining in the country.

The museum is named after the former General Manager of Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines, the late Dr Adrian Gale who initiated the Orapa Today, Boteti Tomorrow (OTBT) programme under which the museum falls. The OTBT programme is geared towards assuring that Orapa is a great place to live and work. It is also focused on building a sustainable alternative economy for the Boteti Sub District beyond mining.

The Debswana leadership has been thanked for making sure that the story of diamonds is preserved and told through the museum.

Debswana is dedicated to unlocking the value of Botswana’s precious natural resources and creating sustainable value to improve the lives of Batswana. Creating sustainable value to improve the lives of Batswana through this precious resource also means creating an appreciation for our diamonds and the diamond industry, which is what the museum seeks to achieve.

The company has indeed set the tone on how corporates can work towards leaving a legacy beyond their core business for the benefit of the communities in which they operate.

Mining Diamonds, Enriching the nation.
