Over the years, Debswana has utilised it’s revenue to contribute to growing the economy of Botswana by forming subsidiaries which it either fully owns or co-owns. These companies have grown to become key players in corporate Botswana and continue to add considerable value to the country’s economy.
This short term insurance company was formed in June 2000 to issue insurance policies protecting Debswana's assets, business interruptions, liabilities, securities and aviation risks. As a licensed short term insurance company in Botswana, Sesiro Insurance Company (Pty) Ltd enables secure and cost efficient access to the domestic and international insurance markets for Debswana's risks.
Naledi Mining Services Company (Naledi) stands as a prominent service provider within the mining sector, offering essential services that cater to the core and strategic aspects of mining operations. Naledi's journey since its inception in January 2023 has been marked by remarkable growth. As time has progressed, they have mastered the intricacies of daily management controls.
The Debswana Pension Fund (DPF) is a defined contribution pension fund established in 1984 as a trust through a joint initiative between, De Beers Botswana Mining Company (now Debswana), Anglo American Corporation Botswana (Pty) Ltd and De Beers Prospecting Botswana (Pty) Ltd. The primary purpose of the Debswana Pension Fund is to meet future benefit obligations.
Our subsidiaries collectively contribute billions of Pula to Botswana's economy each year, through taxes, royalties, and local procurement.
