Jwaneng Mine General Manager Goitseone Gadifele joined other captains of industry to dissect the theme of the conference in a high-level dialogue panel discussion on “New opportunities, Smart partnerships” at The Future of Mining Summit 2025. The panel examined the emerging opportunities and innovative partnerships shaping the future of the global mining industry, drawing from some of the earlier conversations, including the keynote address by the Minister of Minerals and Energy, Honourable Bogolo Joy Kenewendo.
Mr. Gadifele shared on how Debswana is intentional about supporting local and unlocking opportunities in the mining value chain through its robust Citizen Economic Empowerment Program (CEEP). He said that development of a local manufacturing base can help efforts to reposition Botswana as a global hub for mining equipment and services.
The panel was chaired by Vice President – Corporate Affairs De Beers Group, Ms. Otsile Mabeo. Mr. Meshack Tshekedi – CEO of Botswana Oil Limited, Mr. Charles Siwawa – CEO of Botswana Chamber of Mines and Mr. Mpho Masupe – CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Botswana also shared insight as panelists.
