We are excited to announce the secondment appointment of Dr. Rachel Seleke-Motsu to the Ministry of Health as Coordinator Health Reform & Special Projects, for a period of two years effective 1st July 2025. In this strategic role, Dr. Seleke-Motsu will be instrumental in coordinating public health reform tactics and special projects in consonance with the overall Ministry of Health transformative strategy. Her role will oversee the accreditation & registration of all public health facilities, development of national health telehealth platform & optimising referral pathways amongst others.
Dr. Seleke-Motsu has been a dedicated member of the Debswana team since September 2013, and she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational excellence, having successfully led Debswana Jwaneng Mine during the Covid-19 pandemic through the ‘Operation save Botswana’ Covid response strategy which she was integral in formulating and implementing.
Dr. Seleke-Motsu has served as the first female Hospital Superintendent within Debswana, and she has led Jwaneng Mine Hospital through a transformative journey with passion and commitment to quality as demonstrated by the continuous certification of the coveted COHSASA quality accreditation. Dr Seleke-Motsu has also pioneered community projects in the Jwaneng zone of influence, the latest of which is the telehealth digitisation project in partnership with Tsabong Primary Hospital and Abaricom.
Her leadership training, professional experience as well as her demonstrable competencies will accord the national health landscape a capable, competent and transformative human resource.
