Jwaneng Bowling Club emerged victorious at the 2025 Botswana Bowling Nationals Tournament, lifting the prestigious Rhodes Trophy. The tournament was held in Gaborone from the 24th to the 31st of May and featured five competing clubs: Francistown, Gaborone, Orapa, Selebi-Phikwe, and Jwaneng.
The competition included both men’s and women’s divisions, with bowlers competing in four categories: Singles, Pairs, Trips, and Fours. Jwaneng delivered a dominant performance across the board.
In the Ladies Singles, Gaoromelwe Mpopi Pelemo successfully defended her title, securing the Gold Medal, while her teammate Malebogo Keorotse claimed Bronze. The Men’s Trips team; comprising Joshua Mothusi, Kabelo Ngwako, and Gabriel Maphane, also brought home Gold.
Jwaneng’s dominance extended to the Fours category, where they won Gold in both the Men’s and Ladies’ sections. The Ladies’ team included Boikhutso Mooketsi, Millicent Lesedi Mafoko, Malebogo Keorotse, and Rassiah Sekhutlo. The Men’s team featured Charles Diteko, Joshua Mothusi, Joseph Keorotse, and Bame Rantsiapana. In the Men’s Pairs category, Otlaadisa Tlotleng and Kitso Mmunayana added to the medal tally by winning Bronze.
With strong performances across all categories and a solid medal count, Jwaneng Bowling Club accumulated the highest overall points and was rightfully crowned the 2025 Botswana Bowling Nationals Champions.
