JWANENG MINE STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH PITSENG COMMUNITY THROUGH MEANINGFUL OUTREACH

Jwaneng Mine’s Health Services Department recently deepened its partnership with the Pitseng community through a clothing outreach initiative held at the village kgotla under the Employee Volunteerism Programme.

Speaking at the event, Pharmacy Manager Mr. Mealo Ntau highlighted a relationship rooted in trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility. He reflected on impactful initiatives in Pitseng, including the revitalisation of the Pitseng Primary School garden, which now supports practical agricultural learning; learner empowerment through prize-giving and a career fair; and community health screenings that promote early detection and overall wellbeing. Mr. Ntau also emphasised the importance of recognising the community’s resilience and unity, in line with Debswana’s “Show We Care” value.

Clothing items were formally presented through village leadership, with Mr. Ntau noting that such contributions help restore dignity and confidence. Kgosi Mafoko of Pitseng village expressed appreciation, acknowledging the mine’s continued commitment to addressing both immediate needs and long-term community wellbeing.
