Following the recent successful hosting of the Debswana World Athletics Relays Gaborone 2026, Debswana Management yersterday recognised employees who formed part of the Working committee in appreciation of their exceptional contribution and outstanding execution of a globally celebrated athletics event.
The Debswana Working Committee made of various disciplines was recognised for their contribution to delivering a world class event that elevated the Company’s global visibility and brought immense national pride.
Speaking at the event graced by members of the LOC Marketing team, Chief People Officer Matlhogonolo Mponang said that the team worked tirelessly over several months under immense pressure, tight timelines and often beyond normal working hours, managing complex stakeholder dynamics, activations, contract negotiations, branding, VIP protocol and hospitality, media engagements, logistics, and public relations activities with remarkable professionalism and dedication.”

In addition, Debswana also recognised the valuable contribution made by Botswana athletics legends during Debswana’s activations and public mobilisation campaigns such as Isaac Makwala, Onkabetse Nkobolo, Amantle Montsho and Thabo Motsokono (the public announcer/commentator)
