Botswana strengthened its position in the global diamond industry following its admission into the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) through the Botswana Mercantile Exchange and Botswana Diamond Hub. Speaking at the WFDB International Botswana Summit in Gaborone, Debswana Head of Sustainability & Social Impact, Rachel Mothibatsela, highlighted the importance of sharing the impact of natural diamonds at source through sustainability and community development initiatives. She noted that natural diamonds remain accessible to consumers and stressed the growing importance of traceability, transparency, and provenance in building trust and strengthening the connection between consumers and Botswana’s natural diamonds.
