Last week, the Jwaneng Mine Engineering Department hosted the 2024 Safety Summit at Albert Milton Hall, bringing together employees and contractors to discuss critical safety issues. The summit aimed to raise awareness about the transition from Fatal Risk Control Standards (FRCS) to Debswana’s Technical Standards, highlighting their role in ensuring safety and supporting the company’s goal to attain absolute zero harm.
Presentations by technical standard champions showcased the benefits and advancements of the new standards, while a panel discussion featured employees sharing personal experiences with workplace injuries, underscoring the need for a stronger safety culture. Interactive stalls provided hands-on demonstrations of the standards in action, inspiring attendees to prioritize safety in daily operations and reinforcing Debswana’s commitment to a safer work environment.
