PLANTING SEEDS OF SUSTAINABILITY: DEBSWANA AND PARTNERS DRIVE CLIMATE ACTION IN MMATHUBUDUKWANE

The Technology and Technical Services Team at Debswana, along with the new Minister of Basic Education and Child Welfare, participated in a tree planting event in Mmathubudukwane as part of an employee volunteerism initiative. They planted 150 trees in the Mmathubudukwane Reclamation Park to promote resilient communities and sustainability.

The Executive Head of Technology and Technical Services at Debswana Mr. Bakani Motlhabani 

highlighted the importance of this effort in combating climate change and creating a positive legacy. District Coordinator at the Department of Forestry and Range Resources Mr. Mapena thanked Debswana for collaborating with the department in what she called a “noble initiative.” The fruit trees planted will help provide nutritional benefits and potential livelihoods for the local community. The event was a collaboration among several organizations, including Debswana, the Kgatleng District Council, and local development committees.
